Brewed to commemorate Black Tom who fought in the English Civil War at the Battle of Winceby, Lincolnshire. It is rich and spicy and goes well with cheese and red meat.
What the Beerdrinker says:
Another deep ruby coloured beer with a mushroom coloured head. A strong malty nose with hints of summer fruits and blackberries. The initial taste is of blackberries followed by toffee. This beer is very sweet with well balanced and subtle flavours. It is not a session beer.
