What the label says:
An exceptional treat for that special occasion. This is the ultimate indulgence from the brewers of Abbott Ale. A distinctive full bodied, smooth and mature beer. Bursting with fruit cake and toffee flavours. Brewed for quality of the highest order in the heart of Bury St Edmunds where brewing in the town’s Great Abbey can be traced to 1086.
What the Beerdrinker says:
The head on the beer dissipates very quickly. The beer smells of the Suffolk Breckland from which it originates with strong hints of heather, gorse and honey. The beer has a sweet honey taste, is extremely mellow and smooth, with a warming after taste more akin to good brandy than a beer.
This is true winter warmer and while it is not a particularly complex beer, but it’s perfect.
